...finding new beauty where I have already been

In preparation for a hiking trip that I am planning for a group of friends,  I took a trip to Half Moon Bay today.  I have been there several times since moving to Northern California, but there always seemed to be time constraints.  Today I told the step D that she would be on her own and not to expect me until she sees me...

My morning (Er, afternoon actually) started at Cafe Mezza Luna, where I had a great (very inexpensive) breakfast.

After breakfast I headed over to the Half Moon Bay State Beach, I believe that this will be a GREAT hike for those of us who are not up to more rigorous hikes yet.  I started at the State Beach Parking lot and headed South along the beach.  It was a lovely day, and it was a lovely hike.

Flowers.

Funniest thing happened; about 30 minutes into my walk, I thought that I heard a parachute (In my recklessness youth I took up sky diving with one of my close friends, so I know what a 'chute sounds like).  So, I am thinking to myself "Self, this is a very odd place to hear a parachute, right?" right about then I hear a shout "Look out!" so I start to turn... and get a pair of feet, followed by the rest of the guy, in my back.  Para glider!  That's it!  Maybe he was gay and was picking up on me, I think he was groping by bum on the way down, I think...  Anyway, honest accident, no harm, yada yada...  After the crash I helped get his silk straightened and off he went again, looking for more booties to air-grope.

So I kept walking to the end of the path, then climbed down to the beach and wandered around in the tide pools.

Funny, the only pics I am in are the one that my tri-pod takes... Hmmm...

 Here are some pics!  Enjoy!
